Rakesh Nigam is the Chief Executive Officer of The Indian Performing Right Society Limited (IPRS), with decades of experience across music rights, copyright management, and financial restructuring. Leading IPRS since 2004, Rakesh has played a key role in its transformation from generating ₹7–9 crore in performing rights income to collecting over ₹800 crore annually. A Chartered Accountant with experience at Universal Music India and Saregama India, he has also been instrumental in IPRS’s registration as an authorised Copyright Society and continues to advocate for transparent royalty distribution and the rights of authors, composers, and music creators.
